An Advanced Tennis Clinic for men and women (discounted fee for women), 4.0 tennis level and higher, up to 5.5, is scheduled this Saturday at 6:00 p.m. and running until 8:00 p.m. (2 hrs) at an indoor tennis court venue close to Boston and Cambridge.

Several tennis professionals and coaches will supervise the clinic, which will be conducted on two tennis courts and consist of fast-paced advanced tennis drills, including quick transition practice, 2-on-1 hitting, and baseline point play, as well as game and match play.

Register by Saturday at 12 noon by sending your name, tennis level (rating) and contact phone. We'll get back to you with confirmation and directions to the tennis courts.

Cost: $45 per player for 2-hour clinic

I've made some great progress though... try to eat healthy most of the time (6+ meals/day), and I've managed to lose 20 lbs fat then gain 12 lbs muscle so far. There are two divisions in this league, and advanced division and a beginner division. We will be in the easier one. Hockey experience is not necessary, just a desire to show up and try.

Only equipment required is shin guards (soccer style are fine), eye protection (like racquetball glasses), and a stick.

The North Shore Women's Rugby Team will be starting our spring practices in the next few weeks! Women of all experience levels are strongly encouraged to check us out! We're a great group of women who love introducing the sport to new players, and getting some experienced ruggers to join our crew, too!

Practices will be Tuesday and Thursday evenings at the Salvation Army in Lynn and once it warms up, we'll move outdoors to the GEAA field (also in Lynn).

Still deciding on whether to have separate classes for males & females. I am a competitive amateur boxer, personal trainer & boxing instructor with a degree in Sports Medicine and a CSCS certification.

Every Tuesday for the last two years, people have gotten together at a pub in Mission Hill to do two things: drink and play dominoes. Why dominoes? Because it's not the kiddy game you remember playing with grandma. In Miami (where I'm from), it's a loud, raucous game filled with yelling, obscenities, and trash-talking. It's fueled by alcohol and played by everybody. In other words, it's the complete shit.

Winter�s here, and you're not doing anything Tuesday nights. There's no excuse to stay in and watch TV when you could be drinking, learning a game, and meeting a ton of new people. The bar where we play serves over 160 types of beer and is also a pizzeria, featuring obtuse-angled slices (really). All of this is delicious and cheap.

The Mission Hill Domino Authority is the name of the group. It�s essentially a bunch of kids in their 20s who like boozing and aren't afraid of meeting new people. In fact, the MHDA has been so successful, even the Boston Globe wrote about it:

This is the year that I�m vowing to meet some new people in Boston. I�ve lived here for over five years now and I�ve watched a majority of my friends leave the City. I live in East Boston, most of my friends have married, moved to the �burbs, or moved out of the state. The friends that I have left are great, funny, smart, and all around good people.
So this year I�ve made a resolution to make some new guy friends in the area. I would really like to have a group of guy friends again to hit up Sox games, go to a cigar bar, grab some dinner, watch the Pats (I guess that will have to wait until the fall), go to a Bruins game, grab some dinner, or jus t do random stupid stuff.

I have been renting DVDs from libraries and watching them at night since it has become too damn freezing to do anything outside after the sun goes down. I am wondering if anybody else would like to watch and discuss these films, too, as I don't know many people in the area and wonder if anybody would like to get to know someone who watches way too many films in his spare time.

Anyhow, I've been ranging from "Carnival of Souls" type horror junk to Peter Weir art films over the past week. Actually, I've been on a old horror film binge in the recent week. But, next week, it could be Fassbinder, Kurosawa, or classics of the silent era. I don't know -- it depends. And if you joined in, you could choose what we would be watching. I'm generally not too picky about it.

One of China�s rarer internal disciplines is Ba Gua, characterized by twisting and coiling movements. Even rarer still are the secret auxilliary Qigong training methods employed by Ba Gua to strengthen and condition the body. There are 8 Ba Gua Qigong training methods, each fashioned after the movements of an animal - mythical or real. Each of these 8 Ba Gua animal Qigongs is designed to cultivate a different conditioning quality for body & spirit. Open to all levels. We�ll cover two animal movement patterns in this seminar.

Happy New Year! With a fresh start to the new year, I'm excited to see who I will meet, and friends I will make. I thought I'd try out CL to see who is out there that shares same interests. I'm a good guy, college educated, and looking for some fun/nice people to do some winter activties with me.
