The Room: One large room is up for temorary sublet. It has blue walls, two windows, wood floors, and a walk-in closet with its own light and window. The room is the biggest room in the apartment. The sublet will be from January to April or May. I'm very flexible as to the details, because I'm moving elsewhere temporarily, but when I return, I really want to come back to the same place and same people. So, I will be very flexible to your needs. You'll be free to use my furniture if you want, or I can put it in the basement.

The Apartment: Consists of the top two floors of a house. There are three bedrooms on the second floor, two bedrooms on the top, two bathrooms, two living rooms, a nice sunny kitchen, tons of closet and storage space, half of a basement with our own washer and dryer. There's also a front deck and a back porch. We have cable, with loads of channels. Also, the heat is oil (we are getting ready to put plastic over all the windows).

The Location: Hillside Road, in Watertown. It is a quiet, nice neighborhood that is a short bus ride away from Harvard Square in Cambridge and the Red Line. Waltham is also the next town over, and is very easy to get to. There are lots of little restaurants, convenience stores, locally owned grocers, and a larger Shaws a short walk away. I don't have a car, I only bike, walk, or bus, and its never been a problem for me.

The Roommates: There are five people in the apartment (you'll be the fifth in place of me). We are easy going and fun to be with. We all found the apartment through Craigslist, and have meshed really well. We have freedom to sometimes hang out, cook together, or watch t.v. together; and if we don't feel like it, no one's going to be bummed if you do your own thing. Very open house, with good people. Everyone works, either in office jobs, or nannying. There are three fellows and two ladies (I'm in the latter category).

You: To maintain an equilibrium of the sexes, you need to be female (but if you aren't and are still really interested, still talk to me). You shouldn't have a car, because in Watertown there is no overnight street parking during the winter, and we only have three spots in the driveway. Being a friendly, decent individual would be a good idea too.

I LOVE my apartment and would never leave except that I'm studying abroad in Paris next semester. Maintenance takes such good care of this place -- they vacuum the stairways every few days, keep the lawn clean and trimmed, and fix anything that is broken. Rent is $775/month plus heat & hot water.
