A twenty minute walk in the middle of the day is not enough. Dogs need to be stimulated and exercised on a daily basis.
In my opinion the keys to a truly happy and well behaved dog are exercise, proper socialization and good training.

My method of training utilizes positive reinforcement techniques using treats, praise and patience. The results of my training method are not only to have the dog understand basic commands but more importantly, teach the dog how to live in a human world.

Training is done on a one-on-one basis (no group classes or walks). This allows your dog to be trained individually, providing you and your pet all the attention required
to meet your specific goals and needs.
I also offer a seven week basic obedience course for puppies and young adult dogs.

2 Year Old Great Dane Needs New Home (North Shore)

Two year old purebred Fawn Great Dane needs a new home. Unfortunately due to our son�s serious allergies we need to find a home for our baby. She is 135LBs. She is spayed. She was crate trained as a pup and loves her crate to this day. It gives her a rest from the kids when she needs it. She is great with other dogs of all sizes. She is also used to and friendly with cats. She takes a few moments to warm up to new people. Is protective and barks when strangers come near the house or the car, however, once she senses we are at ease she calms down. She is a laid back girl and loves to lay at our feet curled up by the couch. Although resting is her favorite past time she has plenty of energy for a game of tug of war or fetch. She usually has 60 seconds of Zoomies at night. If you have had a Great Dane before you know what Zoomies are. If you haven�t had a Dane you will laugh when you see it. She is great with our two kids (5&2-1/2) however they have learned to duck from her wagging tail. She doesn�t know that she is a big dog so you will have to be careful lying on the floor or else you will have her plop on top of you. We have all her medical records and she has had all her shots and is up to date with everything. She has brought tremendous joy to our family and it pains us to see her leave. We will send her crate as well as dog bowl and favorite toys along with her to make her feel comfortable. We are not asking for any money for her. We are just looking for a loving home. Because of all of this we will be selective in her new home. We are looking for someone with experience with bigger dogs. We don�t practice or believe in negative reinforcement. She is too sensitive for that and would be very unhappy. If you are interested please contact us. We will try and get back to all the responses as soon as we can. REO is a 5 month old French bulldog mixed with Puggle. She is a great dog, and has dark brindle markings. She is great with children and pets. My daughter's father bought the puppy for our daughter, however, we soon found out that we both are alergic. If I could keep REO I would, but we are litteraly sneezing all day long. He is great with people, once he knows you. Lately has been showing aggression towards guys but is great with his owners.
Tyco has never ever snapped at his owners, and hardly even play bites. He is full of energy and still a baby at heart,
He had one litter of puppies, needs his current vaccinations but has his rabies shot.
hes absolutly a gorgeous looking dog, and so were his pups!
He has bit someone but he felt scared because they came straight up to his face.

I would probably reccomed getting him trained or keeping a muzzle on him while he gets to know his new owners. He is really a great great dog and very loving and loves to cuddle with you. He does not like cats or small animals but gets along with other dogs.

Were moving and its really really hard to find somewhere that wants pitbulls in our price range..it really kills us to have to let him go,
I also recommend having a yard where he lovess to run and play.

We have several kittens ready for adoption that are "special needs". This means they need "special homes". Homes who are willing to work with them a little more to make them the "purrfect" kitten. All these kittens were rescued off the streets during trapping of feral cats. They came in at anywhere between 6 and 8 weeks old. Some have been in a few weeks and have made remarkable progress, but still need some fine tuning. There are gorgeous long hairs, extra toes, tabby kitties, tuxedo kittens, purr up a storm kittens - they just need that "extra" time to love you completely! All these will do excellent with another kitty at home. Please think about saving a kitten that came from pretty horrible places. They REALLY need LOVE! Thank you...

2 Adorable Foster Kittens looking for their forever home. Born on Tremont Street in Boston and lived outside until they were 7 weeks old. They are now 13 weeks old and have adjusted to living inside and having food all the time. They are still a little skiddish around people but are getting better by the day. They love other cats and would do fine in a multi cat home. They are both sisters and would probably do better with another cat at home or go together.

Dolly - Torti...She is really coming around and starting to enjoy being around people and other cats. Loves to play with toys. Doesn't really enjoy being picked up but will cuddle up next you at night. Over time she may get used to being picked up.

Dorrie - Gray (calico) Long hair. Is an absolute cuddle bug. Gets a bit skiddish when you first go near here. But quickly gains trust. Loves to play. Will cuddle in your arms for hours and just hang out.
The kittens are not spayed at this time but when they get a bit older they will be. They have their first round of shots and have been dewormed. The kitten are being foster in North Chelmford. The next two kittens I am also fostering for the second chance shelter are 9/10 week old kittens. Both are females and both love to be around other cats. The little tiger kitten likes to be held and cuddled when she can get over being scared. She is ready to go to a new home. Her sister who is a calico at this point is not ready for a new home. She is always out and running around and we will find her sleeping on the chairs. But she has not let us get to close to her and may injure someone who isn't used to a scared feral cat. Lhaso Apso needs a new home.

This dog needs a new owner who doesn't have children living in home, who won't stick him in a crate all day. I think a retired, or someone who works from home would be best.

We bought the dog as a puppy 2 .5 years ago, he's very sweet, but doesn't like to compete with other animals, or people. He is nutered, recently groomed and is up to date on all shots.

Again, He doesn't tolorate children at all - he recently nipped at my daughter, hense the reason he's being posted.

The "New Britain Breeder" flagger

I'm responding to the ridiculous post that was made earlier today by an unbelievably unstable woman.

For better than 2 years she's been posting about the "New britain breeders" and says that the police are investigating them. (2 years investigation??)

Better than a year ago I posted for 3 dogs that were in my local pound..I was just helping out my friend, the dog warden, to get the word out quicker. (that IS what this site is for after all) It was then that I was accused of being this New Britain breeder. I unfotunately posted my 1st name and phone # (BIG MISTAKE!!) This woman proceeded to look up my address and post unbelievable things about me (including that I breed cats and kill the mothers after they give birth...and I dont even own a cat!!)

Since then I've watched her harass and post about random people claiming they're ALL the New Britain breeder. (in New York, Mass and Conn.) She, on many occasions, has made these claims about legit recue groups (her latest is the Border Collie rescue). But in most cases she just finds posts from people just trying to re-home their family pet (for whatever reason--their busiiness)

Please, please, please when you see this nut post saying "flag this breeder" --FLAG HER!! She's just making it so difficult for many to find good homes for pets in need. If you must...check the posts first to see for yourself if you think they're breeders. (which, by the way, is NOT against the law like she trys to make it seem. It is just against CL rules..and NO I'm not a breeder and do wish there were less of them)

***I posted a fake ad ,a month or so ago, for a litter of kittens and sure enough MY post was added to her list of "illegal breeders". She even went as far to say that she contacted me and asked what vet I used and said I refused to answer. Of coarse-we NEVER spoke...on the phone or through an email. Just more proof that she LIES!!

She's been visited by her local police on 2 occasions now because of her behavior here. Her computer was taken once...and it was quiet for awhile but they must have given it back to her and she's back to "flagging".

**If your posts are being flagged because of her --copy her posts and report to CL. Copy and paste if you feel the police need to be notified. For this reason I wish CL would remove the flagging option. Maybe more animals would get into their safe, forever ,homes quicker.

Frankie
Frankie is a nearly 3 year old Indoor Female cat. She comes from a loving home who has recently had a new addition to their family, the birth of a new baby. Frankie has lived in the same home since she was 8 weeks old. Over the past 11 weeks Frankie has changed from a very loving cat to an increasingly aggressive one, especially towards visitors � and in some cases us (her parents). These behaviors are obviously related to the new child. Despite numerous efforts being made by us to curb the behavior, it has come to the point that we have become fearful that she may hurt the new baby. With great regret, we have decided to give Frankie up for adoption. We feel as though it is not fair to Frankie as well as the baby to continue this way.
We have tried to give Frankie to a no kill shelter but they are unfortunately all full.
Frankie was born in Sept. She loves to sit in the window watching birds fly by. She is infatuated with water from any faucet � she will lay in the bathtub after you take a shower. She knows the words �no�; �treat�; �bedtime�. She loves oatmeal and pudding.
Frankie is up to date with all of her shots. She is spaded and has a locator chip inside of her. She is FeLV and FIV negative. All documents are available.
Frankie will need some time to adjust to whatever home she goes to. She is very attached to us � in fact we are the only ones she currently allows to hold her. We are not sure how she would react to a new home but can imagine there will be a rather long adjustment period.
A typical encounter with Frankie as a visitor would be: She will rub up against you and in some cases allowing you to pet her but will swat you after a period of time and in some cases hiss.
It is unknown how Frankie will act towards other cats because she has always been the only cat. It is our opinion that she will have to be the only cat in the household. She has a very dominant personality.
With the right family, we believe Frankie will thrive. It will take a special family/person who has a great deal of patience but in time will have a wonderful companion for years to come. We are more than happy to help out financially � we will provide a beautiful wooden litter box that looks like a chest. We will also provide food and litter.
As you can imagine, this has been a very difficult decision for us to make � but we believe it is for the best for Frankie.

She is a little crazy when you try to get her out of the cage, but the vet says that once she is used to being held on a regular basis she will be fine. All she really needs is love, once she is out of the cage she is very sweet and loves to cuddle. She comes with her cage, chew toys, exercise wheel, dust bath house, water bottle and some food. I want her to be loved by someone who has more time for her.

You can't just assume because they didn't contact you they didn't want to get their kitten fixed. Maybe they didn't want to be tied into using the spay certificate. Those things can be a pain in the butt to use... you have to find a vet that will accept them, and most vets won't. Maybe the person had their own vet and didn't need/want to use the certificate. Also ALL vets charge an additional "co-pay" (to private owners, not to shelters or rescues) for the certificate because they are losing money on the certificates, as well as an additional "wellness check" and/or "office visit. I called 10 vets when I wanted to use a certificate and they wanted anywhere from an additional $75 to $200 dollars on top of what I paid for the certificate. The techs told me they must tack on the additional fees because they were losing too much money. I ended up sending the certificate back and using my own vet, for the same amount of money it would have cost to use a strange vet with the certificate (they give refunds within so many days).

Explore all potential reasons you were not contacted and don't be so quick to assume.

Hi. I have a 10 month old chihuahua/pug mix. He is an excellent dog. Great with kids, other small dogs, even cats. He is very loving and cuddley. Needs lots of space and attention. We've only had him a very short time but he is too active for my small apartment. He would be a great addition to a family where someone is home all day and has lots of space to play. Very sweet dog. He has all his shots and paperwork to prove. Small rehoming fee.

My name is Frisco, I am a 9 month old very cute kitty with fluffy soft medium length grey & white fur. I was picked up by animal control a couple of months ago and I am going completely bonkers in this cage. I just want to be able to run around and play like most cats my age. And I also don't mind being held and will purrrrrrr in your arms. I would love to have a home with another young kitty to play with because I simply LOVE other cats. However, I may play a little too rough for small children. I have been neutered, vaccinated and I am negative for FIV/FELV. If interested in getting me out of this place, please email my volunteer friend and let her know what kind of home you would have for me. Indoor or outdoor? Would you declaw me? Any children in the home? Ages? Any other pets? Do you have a current vet? Renters need landlord permission. The shelter is in RI about 1 hour south of Boston. Tiger is a 2 year old long-haired German Shepherd, approx. 70-80 lbs, purebred who was surrendered to the York County SPCA. He was surrendered due to the owner moving out of the country. He is good with other dogs and kids, but not good with cats. He is housebroken. He is not kenneling well at all in the shelter. Due to the stressful environment, the normally sweet Shepherd is acting aggressively. He really needs out of the scary shelter and into a home environment.

Forwarding in case anyone can help this gorgeous dog. He is in a kill shelter. We can have a full eval done AND transport will be arranged. Additionally, we will ensure ALL medical care done prior to transport if anyone able to help. Thanks!

looking for a dog for my loving family. I have 2 great kids that would love to help care for this dog. I am a stay at home mom and do not work so I would have this dog with me 24/7. This dog also must be UTD on shots and spayed or neutered. I have many years caring for all types of pets and have had dogs in the past. This dog MUST be child and cat and dog friendly. I have a vet reference and plenty of references available.

Pics will be great and let me know all about the dog that needs a great home. I am not looking for a breeder dog, shelter animal or a dog who had a medical issue. If you have a dog that has seperation anxeity I would be a great home since I am home all day and the dog will be with me all the time. Potty training is not a problem either.
